This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our customers.

Introduction

Pom’s Kitchen & Deli is situated on Bird Street in the wonderful city of Lichfield. We provide the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or Brunch and also award winning deli produce. Also in Lichfield there are Pubs, Restaurants, Cafe’s, retail outlets and historical figures such as Samuel Johnson.

FROM THE NORTH:

Merge onto M6, continue onto M6 Toll road. At junction T5 take the A5148 exit to A38/Lichfield/Burton Toll. Keep right at the fork and merge into A5148 partial toll road. Take A5206 ramp to Lichfield. At the roundabout take 1st exit (London Rd/A5206). Continue to follow London Rd onto Upper St. John Street/A51. Continue then turn left onto The Friary. Take 3rd exit at roundabout (Swan Rd) follow the road round until to reach Bird Street Car Park this is signposted.

FROM THE SOUTH:

Merge onto M40. At junction A3 exit onto M42 towards M1/M6/ Birmingham (E, N&C/NEC/Airport. Continue on M6 partial toll road. At junction T4 take the A38/A5 exit to Burton/ Lichfield/Tamworth Toll Road. Take 2nd exit at roundabout (A38/Burton/Lichfield). Keep right at the fork and merge onto London Road/A38.Go through 1 roundabout then continue onto Upper St John St/A51. Continue then turn left at The Friary. At the roundabout take 3rd exit (Swan Rd). Follow the road round to the right where you will see signs for Bird Street Carpark

All Car Parks are Managed by Lichfield District Council we recommend Bird Street Car Park where disabled parking bays are clearly marked but please read signage regarding payments and time allowed to park and restrictions for more information please check their website lichfielddc.gov.uk

Entrance

The approach to the Restaurant has a small step at the entrance and we have another couple of areas that have steps. But we have a ramp available a member of the team will arrange this for you to access throughout the Restaurant. We have a fully wheelchair accessed loo for customers. Inside Pom’s Kitchen & Deli

The Restaurant is accessed with level entry from the main entrance of the

All areas have level access throughout though the main entrance door but there us some steps to parts of the building, our team will assist you with our ramp.

We can assist should you need help in the Deli area or to reach items to buy or browse.

The Restaurant has a mix of seating with armchairs as well as high backed chairs (without arms) and benches. Tables and chairs are well spaced apart in the Restaurant. Each table has floor to surface height 770 mm.

Lighting throughout the shop and café is mostly daylight through large windows and the Front door. There is also mixed lighting around with brighter spotlight where needed).

The flooring is Karndean in the Restaurant. The patio is fully flat paved and level along Bird Street

The Restaurant service is table service, but the Deli is from the bar we can assist where necessary. There is also an order by phone option too if you prefer.

We do our best to cater for dietary requirements with gluten free items always on offer. Please speak to our staff on the day or contact us in advance to discuss your requirements. But we do use many of the allergens in our kitchen. So cannot guarantee any dish is free of any allergens.

Large print menus are available and specials on the day are on typed Changing Menus. All staff are happy to run through menus with you.

Crockery is a mix of white and blue, White & Oat Colour and will contrast with the pine table tops.

We play background music in the shop which is kept at an acceptable volume.

Outside seating

The patio area is flat and paved and all on one level. The seating is chairs The height of the outside tables is 750 mm We offer full service to the outside tables. Staff are on hand to offer assistance.

Customer Toilets

Our customer toilet is a unisex accessible toilet and one unisex toilet that is not accessible, are access through a level expect for tables in the snug area, we do have a ramp to assist if necessary for wheelchair accessible corridor at the back of the Restaurant.

The accessible toilet has an entrance door width of 930 mm with level entry from the corridor. The toilet height is 470 mm There are handrails adjacent to the toilet. There is a low-level mirror, sink and hand drying facilities. There is an emergency pull cord There is Baby Changing

Other Information

All our staff receive regular training including disability awareness training. We have a set of evacuation procedures; accessibility is considered as part of our fire assessment. Should you require assistance someone will come to your table and help you with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge. We welcome trained assistance dogs. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the restaurant.
