Our Environmental Practices
We are working with the County Council
To Make our Sites all part of the EBEN Environmental and we are hoping for both of these to be awarded Gold very soon!
Our Waste is removed by Fortress Recycling
Is a Carbon-Neutral Recycling Company meaning that all the waste that our business creates is reused in many different ways.
Is put though a Anaerobic Digestion Facility which turns the food waste into fertiliser for farming and green energy for homes.
Paper & Card
Is sent to a recovery facility which sorts the paper and card into different grades where it is bailed and then sent to be turned back in to more paper and card.
Just like the Paper and card our Plastic waste is sent to a recovery facility where the plastic is collected and processed into pellets so this can be turned back into new plastic products.
All of our Glass is sent to a Glass Recycling Facility where it is sorted in to big and small pieces of glass the small pieces are turned into aggregate for road surfacing and the larger pieces are sorted by colour to make new material including wool insulation.
All of our Tins and containers are sent to a metal facility where they are separated and then recycled into new products
Wood- not something we use much of as a business but what we do receive from deliveries is sorted and then turned into animal bedding.
Sadly we still have a small amount of this but good news this is not sent to landfill its used to make power for homes and business.
All our cooking all is sent to a plant and turned into Bio Diesel for tucks helping lower emissions. (This is carried out by Ollico)
As part of this and working with our waste management suppliers we are virtuality net 0 to landfill
Enjoying takeaway with us?

Keeping Vehicle emissions down
This is something we are working on but we currently work with our suppliers to minimise numbers of deliveries and buy local to save food miles. We also encourage our team to walk, cycle to work and car share these might all be little points, but they all definitely add up.
Both of our Sites at Pom’s both use electricity to operate we don’t use gas and as part of this we install low energy light and keep lights off when we don’t need them and also work with our offices and kitchens with keeping equipment off that we don’t need and buy low energy where possible.
We are reducing our paper waste
You will see that we use manual menus and where possible send people to websites for menus and information and send receipts via a text or an email. Our kitchens are changing too, We are installing screens so this will save approximately 700 rolls of paper a year across two sites. We are working hard to become a paperless business over the next few years as technology allows us to with out affecting our customers needs.
